I’m finally back in the studio, recording new Jazz Matters shows and putting together some fresh music selections.
It feels good to be working with the music again, but recording is only one part of what I’m doing at the moment. A great deal of my time is also being spent preparing the Jazz Matters website and making sure everything is ready for the launch.
I will admit that the website has taken much longer to complete than I originally expected. There have been more pages, more decisions and more small details to deal with than I had imagined. However, I would rather take the time to get the foundations right than rush something simply because I am eager to get started.
Jazz Matters is becoming the clear home for my shows, selections, writing and everything else I want to share. That means the work happening behind the scenes now is just as important as the programmes I am recording.
There is still more to do, but returning to the studio feels like an important step forward. After so much preparation, I’m excited to hear Jazz Matters coming back to life.
